The Michael N. Bruno Memorial Scholarship for Aspiring Entrepreneurs is intended to provide meaningful support to aspiring entrepreneurs at Arrupe Jesuit. The scholarship selection committee has discretion in allocating the fund based on the following guidelines:
Prioritizing Student Scholarships: The primary purpose of the fund is to provide direct financial assistance to individual students through scholarships. Ideally 100% of funds go to scholarships if there is sufficient need from eligible students.
The selection committee should consider the financial need of applicants when determining scholarship award amounts.
If multiple highly qualified candidates are identified, demonstrated financial need can be a deciding factor in awarding larger scholarship amounts.
The committee may choose to award multiple scholarships of varying amounts based on both merit and need of individual students.
2.Program Support: In years where scholarship needs have been met and there are remaining funds to be allocated, the committee may, in consultation with the Arrupe Jesuit Entrepreneurship program lead, allocate the remaining funds to support the Arrupe Jesuit Entrepreneurship program directly. This could include:
Funding for essential program resources, materials, or technology.
Supporting student participation in entrepreneurship competitions or conferences.
Bringing in guest speakers or mentors to enhance the program.
Covering operational costs essential for the entrepreneurship class or club if no other funding is available.

Applications will be reviewed by a scholarship selection committee composed of Arrupe Jesuit administrators. The committee will evaluate applications based on the criteria outlined above, with a focus on demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit, financial need, leadership potential, and alignment with the values of Michael N. Bruno.
-
The scholarship selection committee should maintain clear records of fund allocation decisions and provide a brief annual report to the Bruno/Camp family or their designated representatives, outlining how the funds were used to support both individual students and the broader entrepreneurship program.
The $2,500 annual fund, plus any additional capital donated, will exist initially for 5 years. The benefactors will revisit the strategy for donations in December 2030.
